D-Day
The day is here, though I guess I'll believe it when I see it. We're supposed to get our new child, whom I'll refer to in this space as "Angel", today.The Wife is fairly keyed up about it, and I have to admit I am as well. This one is different in that she will require a lot more care (being less than a month shy of 4 years old), she's long-term, and we could legitimately have a shot at adopting her later if it works out well.
We spent the weekend having Mom and Dad and my nephew over for Easter, doing some final preps on the house (adding gates to the stairways on the decks, hanging a mirror, etc) and I was pretty well either busy or exhausted all weekend, as I am now, hence the lack of posting the last few days. I'll post first impressions of the new member of the gang tonight.
I can't wait.

Wow - from teenager to 4 -yr. old. Now that's trial by fire! I sure hope placement day goes well. I hope you have some bedtime story books around, or are good on-the spot at making them up. We found that with the 4-yr. old that we had, that praying for his mom and grandma during bedtime prayers seemed to help him sleep better (and checking the closet for monsters). My best to you on this placement day.
we got a new placement today at 5:30 this morning, too. How exciting for you guys!
